Eating Healthy !

As many of you may know i’ve been on fitness journey for a bit now. It hasn’t been consistent, there has been some ups and downs. However, i’ve realized that living a healthy and fit life is just the way to be. I feel energized and just full of life when i’m on the right path – meaning i’m eating healthy and working out daily. Many have asked, where do you get the motivation from. I simply answer my kids my husband my life. I want to be able to enjoy life with them, I never want my health to be an issue to why I can’t have fun and enjoy life with them. I understand that life happens, but getting back and up and bettering yourself is such an amazing feeling. You deserve to feel good about your self and life.

I follow a IIFYM (if it fits your macros) diet. It’s such an amazing diet to follow. Many think that while on this diet, you eat bunch of bad food but you don’t. It’s just a matter of eating 85% clean healthy food and the other 15% whatever you may crave. That way you never have to have “cheat days” and simply because on those days people tend to go all out and make it a cheat weekend or what have you and then, there goes all your hard work that you had just put in the week before. Having a IIFYM allows you to have a healthy lifestyle yet also, being able to eat what you want with moderation. As long as it fits your MACROS which are Carbs, Fats, Proteins then you’re good. Having this diet allows you to see what all you intake. Checking nutritional facts and really knowing what you’re consuming is very important in this diet. You would be tracking all your food intake, literally everything. Which sometimes can be a bit time consuming but so well worth it. I lost 13 lbs while on this diet before my hubby coming home from deployment. I swear by it and it’s a no guilt diet.

I found Food Facts which is a website that shows you exactly what’s in your food. It’s a easy app on your phone or you can use the web to inform yourself. love this app. I totally recommend it.

I challenge you to take the healthy lifestyle, I promise you will feel so much better about yourself. Again, that doesnt mean that you’ll never go out to eat. NO. You gotta live life, i’m all for that. Just choosing to be a healthier you. You can do it.

Summa Time Dip

Summer Time is the best time.

San Diego, is the perfect place to be in the summer time. We are so fortunate to have the beach near by, we have many trips there. It’s so awesome to throw on some shorts, tank top and flip flops and have a good time. When I think of summer time, I think of delicious fresh meals, ceviche, aguas fresca, ice cream, fresh fruit. I made this super easy dip, over the 4th of July weekend. My hubby and kids loved it, they’ve been begging me to make it again. I love easy recipes, especially for all those busy parents that are always on the go. I hope you love it as much, as we do.

Yoo Challenge

Many of you may know, that I am on a fitness journey. I have changed my life around and I really just want to live life to the fullest. In a healthy and fit way. I want to see my kids grow up and have fun with them. I don’t ever want, my health to ever stand between my happiness with them. So staying fit and healthy is my lifestyle. As an awesome girl I follow on Instagram @mshelllll saids I want to be a #BA4L

So, I wanted to tell you all about this Yoo Challenge App. It’s pretty awesome. (See Pictures Below) It’s a small device you wear (I wear on the side of my leggins/pants) and as you go on about your day it counts your steps and tracks calories /distance. It’s a great way to keep track of how much you’ve done in a day. It’s super easy to use. You receive your device in the mail, open it up. Download the app on your iPhone, create an account. Sync your device choose a challenge and start tracking. Another awesome thing about this device is that like most tracking devices you have to keep on charging them. The Yoo requires NO re-charging battery life. They come in these super fun colors, they are small and not bulky. I seriously forget that I have it on. Not to mention the YOO challenge community. It’s nice to have people that are on the same track as you, to motivate you. I think there comes a time in our fitness life, that we sometimes get discouraged or get down on ourselves. That’s where a good support system comes into play.

Overall, I really like my YOO. Something I would love to change about it, would be for it to track my heart rate. For example when i’m doing weights or workouts that are stationary and not moving too much but still have a high heart rate. It would be awesome to count those calories in too. Besides that, its a really cool gadget to add to your daily routine. For me, I would love to know how many calories I’m loosing while doing weights since it’s my everyday routine. If you haven’t checked it out yet, be sure you do. It really is a cool and easy gadget to use.

How do you keep track of your calories ?
