Mangham Made

Summer time is here !

As some of you may know, we recently moved cross country from California to Pennsylvania. (more to come on this topic)

We’ve been enjoying ourselves and exploring more of PA and surrounding areas, little by little. I recently discovered the travelers notebook, and just writing down all of our life experiences on this amazing book that i’ve been carrying around everywhere we go – because you never know what new things you’ll find or want to write down. However, I needed a tote or bag to carry it around along with stamp and other accessories… that’s where Mangham Made came along and made my life a bit love you more colorful and organized. Here is a little bit about Karen.

Hi! I’m Karen! I started sewing as a hobby while waiting for my husband to come home from work and to make things for my children. I worked in a corporate office until my son was born. After a year staying at home I decided to open an etsy shop! I opened my shop this year and it’s been such a rewarding experience.

I live in the mountains of Utah with my husband and my two littles! I’m a stay at home mom by day and stay up all night sewing for this small business and I love every minute!

Karen sent me her adorable Tote purse. There are so many reasons why to love this tote. It has the faux  vegan leather bottom to keep the bag nice and firm, and easy to wipe if you so happen to place it on the floor or get it dirty. The straps are a good size to where you can handhold it or wear it over the shoulder. It’s really roomy to use for just about anything (crafty materials, mommy bag, picnic bag). It’s constructed well and made with lot’s of love. The hardest part is choosing the fabric of your choice. Mangham Made Tote

I also received an adorable wristlet. What I love about the wristlet is that I can put my debit card, money, cell phone and take it on the go quickly without having to take a big bag or I can use it inside my tote as a add on. Mangham Made is known for her cute little bows on the zipper part of the pouch adding an adorable look to all her pouches. The wristlet also has the faux leather which is something I absolutely love because I always tend to dirty the bottom of my pouches before anything else. Mangham Made Wristlet Lastly, I recently bought my daughter and I. The Mangham Made mini pouch. It’s so stinkin adorable. It’s small and cute and perfect addition to add to any purse or tote. Don’t you just love the boba 🙂 Mangham MiniI have a pouch addiction. I really do and I realize that. #sorrynotsorry

So,  if you haven’t checked out Mangham Made Etsy shop yet. You must, Karen is amazing and her handmade pouches are adorable. I promise you won’t regret it. Also, be sure to check her out on Instagram she plays this super fun trivia game on Monday’s.

You’ll also have a chance to win one of these cute Sunglass Case !!

Giveaway coming soon… but mean while be sure to follow Mangham Made over on IG.

John 15:13 Veterans Day @ Baskin Robbins

Veterans Day November 11, such a meaningful day for us,  as Americans. We take the time to recognize the heroes among us. They are the men and women who served in our armed forces, the veterans of the United States of America military.

We pay tribute to the men and woman who risked their lives, so that we can be free. The love the verse in the bible.

Greater Love Has no one than this; to lay down ones life for one’s friend. John 15:13

On Veterans Day, Baskin-Robbins will donate 10 cents from every ice cream scoop sold in its U.S. locations to the United firstclasscamoicecreaminstagramService Organization (USO), in honor of U.S troops and veterans

This donation will help the USO fulfill its mission to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families at hundreds of places around the world and help ensure they have access to the programs and services they need.

With that, Baskin-Robbins is also celebrating military personnel all month long with its November Flavor of the Month, First Class Camouflage, which features a combination of Chocolate, Salty Caramel, and Cake-flavored ice cream, special Camouflage Waffle Cone and Waffle Bowl, decorated in green, tan and brown, they will be even be able to order First Class Camouflage Layered Sundae, which is made up of OREO® cookie pieces, caramel praline topping, hot fudge and topped off whipped cream

BaskinRobbins is also committed to supporting veterans through a special veteran incentive program introduced in 2012 for U.S. military veterans seeking to open a BaskinRobbins franchise in markets across the U.S.
oAs part of the program, the company waives the initial franchise fee of $25,000 for developing a new BaskinRobbins location in select markets for qualified, honorably discharged U.S. veterans, making it easier for them to start their own business.

What is the USO ?

The United Service Organizations Inc. (USO Show) is a nonprofit organization that provides programs, services and live entertainment to United States troops and their families. Since 1941, it has worked in partnership with the Department of Defense (DOD), relying heavily on private contributions and on funds, goods, and services from various corporate and individual donors. Although congressionally chartered, it is not a government agency. The USO operates 160 centers worldwide. (Information from Wikipedia )

Did you know there is a USO in almost every airport?  It’s a room where they offer military personal, a place to relax and wait while waiting for their flight. A few years ago, we traveled from Corpus Christi, TX to Phoenix, AZ for the holidays. We were able to check out the USO in Houston, TX airport. Due to our four hour layover. The USO in Houston is beautiful, a refrigerator full of drinks, their was finger food, snacks for the kids, reclinable sofas. Not to mention a play area for the kids to play, with movies to watch, computers to access internet, and tv’s  to monitor flights. All around. Beautiful. We felt blessed and fortunate to be able to wait at the USO especially since we were traveling with our two kids at the time, our daughter and son of 1 years old. It made the time go by fast. All thanks to the USO and generous people who contribute to it. We thank you very much.

Pollyanna get’s FIT.

Life in California has been so amazing ( besides of course deployments – those are NO fun). We are able to do so much more compared to our life in Texas. It’s just such a good change, for the best. The weather is amazing, not to mention the beach and we can actually go to the gym now, my hubby bought us gym memberships to LA Fitness. Which has been such an amazing, new outlook on life for me.

After getting my gallbladder removed, I wanted a new start for myself. Not only for myself, but for my family. There is nothing more, that I want in life then to see my kids grow up and be there every step of the way. I want to enjoy life with them and not have my ‘health’ be an issue. I want and need,  to be at my very best for my hubby and kids.  About a month ago I started to keep track of my ‘MACROS’ and working out on a daily basis. Since doing so, I’ve dropped a few lbs and slowly but surely gaining muscle – that I never knew i had 🙂 I feel amazing as far as health goes, not to mention, fitting into some jeans that I wasn’t able to before, is also pretty darn good.

I was a bit scared to actually post this, just because of my insecurities. I figured if my pictures can motivate some my readers, then it makes it worth it. These photos are two week difference. I’m SO PROUD of myself, I still have a long way to go but these before and after photos just give me more motivation to keep on going! My hubby and munchkins need me to be  healthy and lastly I want to feel good about my self. I’m excited of what’s to come in the future.

There are no special pills I’m taking or crazy diets, i’m just following a IIFYM ( if it fits your macros) and working out 5-6  days a week. Working out with weights ( to build muscle) and cardio (to get my body fat down). I have learned a lot from my husband, since he knows a lot about working out and eating right. I too, have been on YOUTUBE a lot, watching workout videos. Some of my favorite body builders – Kai Greene, Dana Linn Bailey, Victor Martinez.

**I use My Fitness pal – iPhone app to keep track on my MACROS// NOT SURE WHAT IIFYM IS CLICK HERE **

I will be documenting my journey.. so stay tuned for recipes/tips/reviews.
