We do, we put our Christmas tree up on Nov.1 its our little families tradtion to put the tree up way before Thanksgiving. We love it that way. The holidays are my favorite time of the year. I recently came across UncommonGoods.com  they are an online marketplace offering creatively designed, high-quality merchandise at affordable prices. They also offer many items that are handmade, if you know me well enough by now. You know that I love and buy handmade all the time I love to support small businesses and handmade. UncommonGoods sent me this custom mug set with my parents anniversary date and initials. My parents just recently celebrated 28 years of marriage, figured it’d be a great gift for them. Plus, its their daily routine to drink coffee and tea in the am and catch up on the plans for the day.

Banana Oatmeal Bread

sf

My husband and I have been trying to ‘eat clean’. I am a sweet bread, dessert lover, kinda girl. This year though, Thanksgiving will be all about healthier choices. Since we are a banana loving family, we always tend to have banana bread in all holiday menu’s. While searching for healthy banana bread recipes, I didn’t really find what I was looking for, so instead I used the basic info and tweaked it to my likings.

Banana Oatmeal Bread
A healthy, delicious choice for banana lovers.

  4. 2 TBSP - Ground Flax Seed
  5. 1 Cup - Stonyfield Plain LowFat Yogurt
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1/2 Cup - Raw Honey
  8. 1 tsp - Vanilla
  9. 2 ripe bananas
  10. **handful of smashed walnuts
Instructions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2. Spray pan with olive oil spray. ( my pan actually didn't need anything)
  3. 3. Place your oats in the blender (food processor) until it becomes into powder.
  4. 4. Add remaining ingredients to the blender (food processor).
  5. 5. Pour and bake for 40-45 mins.
  6. 6. Enjoy !!
Notes
  1. ** Let your bread cool on cooling rack, once its at room temperature be sure to store in an air tight container or zip lock bag and refrigerate to keep fresh. Once your ready to eat a piece be sure to warm it up, taste amazing warm.

This recipe does not contain butter instead I substituted for StonyField Plain LowFat Yogurt. It’s so awesome to know that Yogurt is good for you. I recently started substituting yogurt for sour cream in my rice, tacos and it’s amazing to notice not much of a huge change except for the HUGE fact of course that Yogurt is good for you and sour cream not so much.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. I froze 2 loafs for thanksgiving already, I also love to use it for my daughters bento snack, since it’s a healthy choice. Be sure to check out  Stonyfield Yogurt Substitution Guide-2 interesting stuff.
