Domino Cloth Pads Review

SewFatty: Review on the Amazing Domino Cloth Pads My addiction for cloth pads has grown. I want to try all the cloth pads out there. {he he} Seriously I wish I had done the switch way soon. I believe if you have the right cloth pads, it truly just makes everything so much easier. Karin owner of Domino Pads sent over her Variety Pack of Regular size pads. I fell in love the moment I touched them. They were so soft and the color swatches are just so beautiful. I still couldn’t believe I would actually use these as menstrual pads. I was beyond impressed. Let’s talk Domino Pads Fun Facts.

Absorbency: I used my Domino Pads right after having my son, so as many of you may know your period sometimes (not all the time) is heavy right after having a little one. In my case it was heavy. I used the heavy pad during day and night and it worked amazing, no leaks. The way it conforms to your body is amazing, the materials used I believe helps with that. The pad is very soft even though it is considered heavy, its not bulky, it’s actually quite thin. I used the heavy day pad for about 4-5 hours on one night without getting up and it lasted that long without any leaks. So in my book, that is pretty amazing !! The regular pad was also great, after my flow slowed down my experience with the pads where just as amazing, no leaks, no shifting no problems. The liner is my best friend these days since I do not have a period I use liners and these are just as great. I sometimes forget I have a pad on, that’s how great these are.

Workmanship : Domino pads are unlike any of the pads I have (don’t get me wrong, I love all my other pads) they are just hard to compare to. They are high quality pads in every way. How may you ask? Well the materials used are high quality, they have branding instructions, they are sealed and ready to go. They are the (store bought) kind, if that makes sense.

Style|Fit : The Domino Pad style has a flare in the front and back. The fit of these pads is great the flare of the pad makes it have the extra coverage which helps with nights and naps when our flow tends to rise up (if you know what I mean ?) So to have that extra coverage is awesome, prevents accidents. Also the materials against your skin are soft and not irritant.

My Stats:

25 years old| 160 lbs | 5’5

Heavy after postpartum.

Normally I am heavy first 2-3 days and after that it becomes lighter.

Overall: I love my Domino cloth pads I have these three in my stash and will be adding some more very soon. I am still waiting on my period to come to be able to enjoy these babies again. I am currently breastfeeding my son, so I guess when you breastfeed your period is non-exsistant 🙂 which I am totally okay with, I will have a period for the rest of my life, so I will definitely enjoy these months without it. Domino Pads are definitely on my “To Buy List”. The quality and workmanship of these pads are just flawless. You will not be disappointed. I used the Earth Mama Angel – Mama Balm and New Mama Bottom Spray with my pads and I experienced no build up nor stains on my pads. For future reference, if you need to use these balms for postpartum reason, like in my case episiotomy, the balm or spray will NOT harm your pads. Another feature I love is that they are not at all noticeable, they are comfy and conform to you body. These cloth pads are a little more on the higher priced pads but I believe you do get what you pay for making it worth the price. Domino pad topper fabrics are hand dye which makes a beautiful camouflage pattern for any stains if you you have any. Your package will come sealed with a care instructions.

Care Instructions : (Recommended by Domino Pads)

Cold rinse before washing may keep stains from setting | wash on medium (105 degrees Fahrenheit/ 40 degrees Celsius) or below | Avoid fabric softeners | Do not use bleach | A detergent with less residue building ingredients will ensure maximum absorbency | Dry on low

You can purchase some of your own Domino Pads through their Website or on Amazon

Environmenstrual Cloth Pad’s Review #MamasBabe

SewFatty: Ecomenstrual Cloth Pads www.sewfatty.com

Making the switch to cloth pads has been so amazing. I don’t know why I had not done this any sooner. Having great cloth pads to make the switch with makes it, that much easier. Environmenstrual cloth pads have been in my stash since having my son just recently. I knew I would need some heavy-duty pads for postpartum. Rachel sent over these two beautiful pads for me to try out. It was just love at first sight her pads where the second pads I had seen and felt and they were simply amazing.

Sizes Available: Mini Regular|Midi Regular|Maxi Regular|Overnight/Heavy Regular|Maxi Super|Overnight/Heavy Super | Postpartum /Overnight| G-string

Environmenstrual Facts:ecompads1

Topped: Bamboo Valour, Bamboo Terry (as shown on picture) but there is also Microfleece, flannel, suadecloth, cotton.

Inner Core (absorbent layers): bamboo fleece

Backing (waterproof layer): hidden breathable PUL

Absorbency: I started using my Environmenstrual pads, right after having my son, so as many of you may know your period sometimes (not all the time) is heavy right after having a little one. In my case it was heavy. I used these pads for daytime and night use. Both times these pads worked amazing. They held up great for about 3 hours (I change my pad every-time I go to the restroom) without any leaks or stain on my underwear. The pads are also thin yet still very absorbent.

Workmanship : Rachel pays great attention to detail, her cloth pads are high quality. She uses nothing but the best quality materials to ensure they are practical, durable and as natural and environmentally friendly as possible. These pads are so perfect they look store-bought.

Style|Fit : The style of the pads I reviewed are flared at the front and back. The fit of these pads is great the flared part of the pad make it have the extra coverage. Not sure if you ladies can relate but when laying down for a nap or to sleep sometimes our flow tends to just rise up, so having that extra coverage in the back or front is awesome and helps prevent any accidents. The fabric choices are so soft against your skin you seriously don’t even notice you have a pad on.

My Stats:

25 years old| 170 lbs | 5’5

Overall: I love Environmenstrual cloth pads I have these two in my stash and will be adding some more very soon, I just need to make sure I will have a period while breastfeeding my son. I am told that some woman’s period stops while breastfeeding so I want to see if that’s the case for me or not before I go crazy on my new-found addiction of cloth pads. 😉 The quality and workmanship of these pads are just flawless. You will not be disappointed, the one and only thing I did notice is that, these pads do tend to stain easier than others I have. I believe it can be due to the material being used. So I would highly recommend rinsing as soon as possible and rubbing some buncha farm stick on it to prevent any staining and having a flawless pad for a while. I also have to say that they are not at all noticeable, they are comfy and conform to you body. These cloth pads are a little more on the higher priced pads for the fact that Rachel is in Australia. If you live there then it’s amazing, but if you live anywhere else the shipping can be a bit much, I will say that her pads are worth the price. Rachel offers such cute prints you wont be able to just choose one. Your package will come with a care instructions card along with a cute magnet which is my total favorite I have it on my dryer.dryer

Care Instructions : Per Environmenstrual

To keep pads fresh and stain free, rinse in cold water after use and rub a little “Sunlight” or “Sard” laundry soap on any remaining visible marks. Cold or warm (<40 degrees celcius) machine wash with your next load of laundry (before pad dries out!!!). Please don’t soak pads or use fabric softeners or bleach on your pads. Occassionally you can add a lidful of oxy soaker to the wash if pads need a freshen up.
Ultra violet light is a great natural sanitser and line drying without delay, in direct sunlight, will help keep your pads fresh and odour free. A occassional warm tumble dry is ok but keep to a minimum as the hidden PUL layer may perish with constant tumble drying.

Environmenstrual Cloth Pad’s will be offering super cute pack of pads for our “Mamas got a brand new babe Event” ENTER HERE.

SewFatty: Eco-Owl by Netta Cloth Pad Review / www.sewfatty.com

Since making the switch to cloth pads, everything just seems to be going very easy. As though I’ve been doing this forever. It amazes me to know how easy this has been. I can’t believe I had not done this any sooner. I can now understand other ladies and their addictions to cloth pads. I find myself stalking cloth pad stores and their sales, I think I’m becoming addicted to cloth pads something like my addiction to cloth diapers 🙂

Eco-Owl by Netta cloth pads are some of my new addiction, these cloth pads are made by an awesome WAHM with two beautiful little girls. That enjoys to sew cloth pads. Here is a little bit more about her.

“My name is Benetta. I’m a Texas girl, mom and a wife, I love to sew, knit, coffee, fabric ,friends, Church, cooking, cleaning, vintage goodies and being a stay at home mom. My mom taught me to sew at a young age and I have always loved it. Okay so I have always been allergic to disposable pads and didn’t know why you might be surprised to learn that there are many chemicals in those plastic and paper products, and we just don’t know what those chemicals do when they are absorbed into our bodies. Those products are in close contact with some of our most sensitive tissues for about 1/4 of our lives during the menstrual years. I knew there had to be a better way. So when I heard about cloth menstrual pads I was intrigued but kind of grossed out. I couldn’t imagine how comfortable they would be and it seemed like a lot of trouble to wash them–but I was really sick of the sweaty, itchy, chafing disposable pads and the real discomfort. So I did some research then I pulled out my machine and made me one to try and loved it no itching and chafing and washing was not gross at all!! So I said to myself, more woman need to know about this so I started making them trying to come up with my own pattern after much testing and tweaking I did and I love it and that’s how I got started with my little cloth pad boutique and I like that I can help others too!!”

Topped: Quilters cotton or flannel.

Inner Core (absorbent layers): Cotton Terry

Backing (waterproof layer): anti-pill fleece

Pads are Turn and Top Stitched and secured with a metal snap.

Absorbency : I have two size 10″ pads, one which is regular for moderate flow and another with an extra layer of absorbency both pads have been my “go to” pads. I’ve been using these during the day and let me just say they are amazing. I have gone 2-3 hours without changing them and they have held up great, no leaks, no shifting no problems. (Keep in mind that my period has been heavy due to having a baby recently.)The 14″ and 12″ pads I used for overnight. I have to say these are totally amazing the absorbency truly amazed me. I did not change my pad overnight until the morning, I woke up, no leaks what so ever.

Workmanship : Netta is always striving to bring nothing but the best to her shop, she pays attention to detail. The workmanship of her pads are impeccable from the placement of her snaps to the stitching.

Style|Fit : Eco- Owl pads have a unique flare to them. This look helps with coverage and it totally conforms to your body. The fit is amazing both in the front and back, I have used these pads with tight leggings and jeans and asked my mother if she could notice my pad her response was ” I can’t even see it”. I have not experienced shifting or bunching at all. I love all the sizes, I believe they all suite me well. As far as trimness I think compared to disposables they are thicker of course but the thickness also brings comfortability. If my mom wasn’t able to notice it through my leggings then I would have to say they are trim enough to not be noticed 🙂

My Stats:

25 years old| 170 lbs | 5’5

Not to mention Netta is always adding new fabric to her shop she has such cute, modern, and whimsical fabric choices. Picking fabric will be the hardest thing you have to do 🙂

Overall: I absolutely love my Eco-Owl pads. It was definitely love at first sight 🙂 I placed an order with Netta before even reviewing them I guess I just had a feeling I would like them. I ended up loving them so much I have a few more coming my way along with a super cute bag 🙂 Netta is such an amazing person, she offers amazing customer service her products speak for themselves. Prices are totally affordable you just cant beat that !! Netta makes cloth pads, wet bags, pad wrappers, lip stick holders and recently added a super cute cloth pad key chain to her shop be sure to stop by and “LIKE” her page and see all her beautiful creations.

Care Instructions : (Netta’s Recommendation, this is exactly how I care for my pads as well.)Pad care is easy! After use, I recommend rinsing your pad until the water runs clear. I like to use Buncha farmers stain stick just rub on when rinsing. Store your pad until wash time in a wetbag or container (be sure to store them in an open topped container or wash them in a timely manner to avoid mildew). When you are ready to wash your pads, you may want to run a pre-rinse cycle. After that, wash them on low or warm. Tumble dry on low or air dry.

Eco-Owl by Netta will be offering super cute pads for our “Mamas got a brand new babe Event” be sure to come back. HINT: Leave a Comment 🙂
